AMAPOLA kick-off meeting

On the last 16th of October the project “A Marketable Polymer based Al-S battery, AMAPOLA” was launched in Madrid.

The project falls under the European Union Horizon 2020 FET Proactive Program that funds projects aiming to open promising paths towards radically new technological possibilities. AMAPOLA project pursues the development of an

Al-S battery (which has the potential to store very high energy) with Polymer Gel Electrolytes (PGEs) focused on new materials, more conductive and performant, than those developed in the previous project, SALBAGE, upon which results this AMAPOLA is based.

The consortium is coordinated by ICTP-CSIC and integrated by researchers from University of Leicester, Graz University of Technology (TUGraz), University of Southampton and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), a battery company: Varta Microinnovation and the SME Tech2Market.

Due to current sanitary circumstances, AMAPOLA kick-off meeting took place virtually.
